Willard Canyon Agreements
|
Willard Canyon is a favorite destination for residents of Willard and neighboring communities. With its steep slopes, rugged terrain, and unbeatable views, it’s one of the area’s most treasured landscapes.
In 2023, Staker Parsons expressed interest in beginning mining operations on privately owned land within Willard Canyon. Mayor Travis Mote and the City Council worked to ensure that the City’s priorities—and the community’s concerns—were addressed before any work could move forward. Code Red is a notification system that uses various means to get important emergency notifications out to members of the community. Box Elder County now has this system. The system will send out calls to listed home phone lines. Many people do not have home phones and Code Red can call cell phones, send text messages, and an app is available for smartphones. Click on the Code Red logo to register your cell phone or additional numbers. Check your cell phone app store for the Code Red app. Contact the City Office if you have any questions or check out the FAQ sheet.
