Qualifications for Elected Office

  1. A candidate must be a registered voter of Willard City. Voter registration forms are available if needed. 
  2. A candidate must be a resident of Willard City for a period of 365 consecutive days immediately preceding the date of the election. 
  3. A candidate must maintain a principal place of residence within the municipality and within the district that the elected officer represents during the officer's term of office. 
  4. Any mentally incompetent person, any person convicted of a felony, or any person convicted of treason or a crime against the elective franchise may not hold office in this state until the right to vote or hold elective office is restored as provided by statute.
